Any recommendations for a Bluetooth USB dongle?

Tried a couple of these things a few months back and they have been utter garbage.
Basically I have some wireless Bluetooth headphones which were perfectly well on my android tablet. Though I would like to use them on the PC as well. which does not have Bluetooth. So been trying to find some sort of USB adapter was actually works properly!

It won't help, but as a last resort : for my workplace's laptop, I was given a wireless headphone that comes with its own dongle (Jabra brand). (there is also the hassle of not having the right to install anything...)

I tried that tp-link one, but after 2 hours messing about.. it just doesn't install in win7 even though there are drivers for it. Looking at the hardware ID on the internet only leads to iffy download sites :(

Installing
Getting this dongle installed is no drama (in most cases) if you follow the instructions carefully. Start by NOT plugging in the dongle into a USB port, however tempting that might be.
The first step is to remove all previous Bluetooth stacks and driver software. This is important to prevent the previous stacks from controlling your new Bluetooth device, causing conflicts or limiting its capabilities.
You can achieve this by removing it via the Add/Remove Programs applet inside the Control Panel. If you have IVT Bluesoleil installed, or Broadcom/Widcomm Bluetooth Software installed, they should be removed along with any other Bluetooth software.
Then, you can execute the set-up from the disc which involves following the prompts...
At this point, it is best to restart your computer to ensure that the software starts up correctly, despite the wizard not requesting it. Don't be lazy - do it !
Then, you can now plug in the USB dongle, which should be detected and result in the installation of a few devices and the appearance of a new Bluetooth icon in your task tray. It should also, after the installation, pop a balloon that tells you that your Bluetooth Device is Available.

After reading more, I deleted all the bth and csr entries in the registry. One it wouldn't let me delete :roll:

Uninstall all bluetooth software from add/remove programs.
Then downloaded this program to delete anything to do with CSR & bluetooth.

Restart PC (USB dongle removed!. Install the CSR software. REBOOT. Then plug in the USB dongle.

Now after pairing my headphones I have audio!! but at 8khz playback :WTF:

All I can find is it possibly is hands free profile. But the other ones don't do anything :roll:

I'm now thinking that the chipset in this tp-link UB400 just as incapable of anything but "hands-free audio" :roll:
Digging deeper into the chipset it is by Cambridge Silicon Radio Limited, We seem to have disappeared in 2012.
I think it should allow A2DP link to be connected and its disabled in playback devices..

Q11: What Bluetooth profiles do our UB devices support?
UB500 supports A2DP/AVRCP/HFP/HSP.
UB400 supports HSP/HFP/OPP.
I have the UB400. So if I have a UB500 I should get A2DP which I assume is proper audio quality :pullhair:
