Hello there,
I would like to make a question about the Falcon FPU overclock (https://exxosforum.co.uk/atari/last/FPU/index.htm).
I would buy a 64 mhz oscillator, the same that @exxos suggests as maximum frequency before it all goes to crash.
But what kind of oscillator it has to be? Cmos or ttl, 3.3v or 5v, dil 8 or dil 14?

Also, is this patch stable enough to leave as it is, putting only a heatsink above without an additional fan?
Could this fpu mod cause some sort of overheating damage over time?

I would be on the safe side and try a lower value oscillator.

You can try higher values later.

I bought a 50 Mhz from exxos store and everything runs smoothly.

I have a heat sink on the chip and I have not noticed any issues.

@marbosar77 64Mhz would not be a good idea at all. If you look at the results, there is no difference between 50mhz and 64mhz, so why would you push your FPU to the brink of destruction for no apparent gain. Also even if it seems to be running, if you run the FPU test software by dml, it will most likely fail many tests and be unstable.

Again, sorry but my technical know-how is almost nonexistent.
