Another Amiga fan has been born.... :D

That is a rev 6 board, and it is the most common one. (3 and 4 are bad, 5 is ok, 6 and 7 are good, 8 is the best one as long as it isn't populated as an Amiga 500+ as it has a leaky battery on board standard)

They almost do not break except for battery damage from the memory expansions.
No Atari fun is to be had with resistor packs or changing caps, as it will just work.
The memory expansions can be bought for a dollar and a dime, the same can be said for the Amiga 520 modulator, it has a RF and a color composite out, or you could make your own DB23 connector out of a DB25 and wire up RGB.

You could add the chips from the expansion to the board quite easely, but please do not, there are other memory expansions that go up to 1,8 MB extra for the trapdoor(search for gary adapter) and those will not work anymore.

If you fit a 0,5 MB memory expansion (will not work with most 1,8MB versions) you can change it from fast memory(cpu access only but fast) to chip memory(accessible by all chips but slow) by changing a few of the solder jumpers on the board, toghether with the Pistorm (that has lots of fast ram) it would be a good combination.

Have fun!!

Are you going to be paying for an expensive 23-pin DIN to make an RGB cable or are we going to see you cutting down a 25-pin one?

I think you can get EmuTOS for Amiga (Not sure what you can do with it).

I think you have a fatter Agnus so you could fit the missing 512k to the motherboard and enable 1MB of ChipRAM (think ST-RAM). Maybe rob it from the battery damaged expansion?

There is a replacement pcb for some of the the keyboards:
https://www.tindie.com/products/bobsbit ... -keyboard/
Please check if it is the same version.

But ofcourse another keyboard isn''t that hard to find.

Thanks for this gen!

I'd already ordered a ready-made cut-down DB25 cable at time of recording, but it hadn't arrived yet.
I think you can get EmuTOS for Amiga (Not sure what you can do with it).
So I hear... ;)

I've not yet delved into the keyboard, but that's good to know about -- many thanks!

You had a lot of bad luck with the memory expansion battery, I have not seen any corroded keyboards before and I have a lot of Amiga's here...

Let us know how it goes...
