What has happened to the TF360?

I know there are many of you out there who have been after getting a TF360 for a while now. What I had intended to do was finish the TF1260 alpha firmware and then release the TF360 immediately afterwards. After all the Tf1260 firmware is basically a subset of the TF360.

So after we released the TF1260 firmware at xmas i immediately sorted out the CD-Drive support and got the NOTPORT against a Solas controller from @Daedalus. It all worked fine. @supaduper & @alenppc tested the new firmware so we ordered some boards..

But the new boards didnt work. They wouldnt overclock AT ALL. It was perplexing. We've spent 6 months chasing this now and i was kinda stumped. I reworked almost everything but we couldnt get consistent behaviour between us. @chucky built some and he got different results again. Infuriating.

So i've just given in, fixed a few things with the rev2 that needed fixing (rotated the NOTPORT so its intuitive, fixed a reset line issue etc) and ordered 5 new boards. If this works expect this to be shipping soon. Otherwise i need to park it to finish the TF4060.

Thanks for the update the TF360 will be an ace addon to the CD32

Hope you do discover the bug and it's an easy fix.

Were you able to isolate it to any of these?
Different CD32's
Powersupply's
Different TF360's

I hope you figure it out, but a 68060 at stock speed is also nothing to sneeze at. :D

Nope. None of the above. all the behaviours were different. Our conclusion is that JLCPCB used cheese to manufacture that batch.

Would 360 Rev2 + updated firmware fix the CD access issue?
If so what was the new design focusing on?
(pure curiosity, I know nothing of HW design)
