From a 65XE to …

Hello everyone!

So I got my first Atari 65XE with XC12 back in the late 80s in the UK. Got into coding it after lots of page 6 type ins.

Fast forward 30 years: Microelectronics degree, work as software developer in finance in Switzerland.

Now into ‘retro’ hardware, electronics and fpga for my hobby.

I made the Atari800 fpga core and the EclaireXL clone system.
I also created the pokeymax pokey clone and sidmax sid clone (unreleased).
Sadly they are no longer available due to no chips!

This year looking to some 16/32 bit projects. Rebuilding an a600 on a cloned motherboard and fixing a broken falcon. Starting with the latter, which is what brings me to join exoss after lurking for a long time!

I have a 65XE and XC12 that I've owned from new, the XC12 doesn't really see much, if any use, as I have a pair of 1050s, SDriveMax, Ultimate1MB, VBXE and Side3 cart. I have just brought my 600XL to the same spec :)

Oh, and BTW, both the 65XE and the 600XL have a stereo PokeyMax, so I for one can say I'm really pleased with your work, Pokey in stereo is a glorious sound to behold, so great work :) Perhaps in the not too distant future we'll see the chip shortages disappear and there'll be more of your fantastic designs.

Welcome to the forum!
Hope you manage to resurrect the Falcon! Still far too few of them in the wild... I've had mine from new.
