For my order number :
CF7BB5C9A493748668EB019BEEF5DA85

I've ordered 1x "TOS162 / TOS206 ROM FRENCH", item [0141], and you send me this chip written "FAST TOS 32MHz", it seems to be the wrong TOS because I'm not using any 32MHz booster. I don't even know if it's the French version. Can you help me solving this multi-TOS maze ?

My setup is 1040 STe with your Dual boot pcb [0232].

That ROM should work just fine with your dual TOS adapter, it says it's 32Mhz as it will work up to that speed, but will be fine at the normal 8Mhz clock too.

You'll have to just drop it in and test to check if the language is correct.

Please also upload your images to the forum rather than link to external sites. We've had instances of external sites disappearing and images being lost. Drag the image to the text field to upload, then use the place inline option to insert into the post. Thanks.

About the toggle switch, should I use a 3PST with :
-1st pole : wires to the Dual TOS PCB
-2nd pole : wires to W102
-3rd pole : wires to W104

The purpose is a simple toggle between TOS 1.62 and 2.06

I see "0114" on the label on your picture, and the item number for french dual tos 1.62/2.06 is "0141".

So I guess there was a little reading error when preparing the order.

You simply need an on/off switch that joins the 2 pins marked SW together on the dual ROM board. Initially you can use a jumper and 2 pin header.

W102, W104 and W104 are used to change the type of ROM in use, you need those jumped to the right hand position for all, but no need to connect to the switch at all.

Fortunately my roms are socketed and W102-103-104 are on the far right (according to the marking)

No worries, you should be good to go then :)

BTW, the header pins are quite fragile, be careful to handle with care.

Take care to ensure the socket is correctly oriented too.

Well, 0114 is a reset button, so I wouldn't draw that conclusion.

Hi guys !
I've finally installed the dual tos, it works and it's the French version ! Yeah !!!
When I'm switching to 2.06, my screen stays black, I have to reset the STE in order to start correctly.

The second problem is when I launch the diagnostic cartridge and perform a ROM Checksum test, it shows this error : "Fail at cycle:000001" as you can see on the picture, any idea ?

Ok, if you have to reset the machine, then your reset circuit is likely dying, details are here: https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/forum/viewt ... =17&t=2175

As for the error with the diag cart, I suspect it is because the ROM doesn't look like what it's expecting from a checksum point of view. As long as the machine boots and runs as expected, I wouldn't worry too much.

Also, double check your diag cart is set for STE and not for ST/F/M as that can throw odd errors too.
