Oh No my Sc1224 just blew it made a VERY loud screeching noise and bad smell /facepalm I have the service manual for it I'll leave it off for a week or two and then take a look at what's burned hopefully I'll be able to resurrect it.

Thanks Tom I'll do that I'm gonna let it sit for a bit before I open it.

Yeh i had exactly that, opened it up took out the seperate psu unit (take pics of connectors as can go back either way round!) And found the big 400v (if i remember correctly) cap was bulging. Replaced them all in the psu unit anyways put back together and prayed.

Still works beautifully :D
