How on earth does this come out of the same factory, in the same year and week? Both Falcon PSUs, one absolutely covered in flux residue (I think?) And the other squeeky clean. Are they supposed to go through a cleaning bath or something does anyone know? I'm gonna claim my warranty on this shoddy work!!! lol

Got this in the post for £10 off eBay :) I've got a bunch of NES spare parts and chips from a previous project so I should be able to put together a nice NES :)

Just fitted PicoPSU, ACSI2SD w/EmuTOS boot, VOFA, ET4000, PItoRGB, HDMI DAC & switcher... all inside my short ST... almost :) will be done soon. Here's a video:

Will be interesting to see how it fares with screen redraw speed, as most of the solutions are used over VME bus to do this.

@mrbombermillzy yeah I'm having fun :) I keep toying with the idea of recasing it... But I think it would lose its charm. It's a very tight fit getting it all in, some things I don't like are how the ET4000 still runs very hot even when the driver is not loaded and not in use, kind of needs to have some space around it ideally.

Any chance of squeezing a heatsink on the GPU?

Better still HS + Fan, (or maybe just a HS with a fan extracting out from the ST casing somewhere is maybe better than nothing, especially if you can seal it off somehow).

Alternatively, is there a 5/3.3v (or whatever) point on the VOFA that can have a manual on/off switch attached?
At least then it wont get hot when not even used.

However Steve, for a grand build like this, you should really be thinking about a water cooling system! :lol:

Just finished installing PiRGB in my STe. I think sitting it on top of the modulator is a good place for it. I modded the case to make a HDMI port hole above the floppy port. Here are the pics.
