Old TT motherboard restoration

Hi,
With my TT I received also an old spare motherboard which I was told had some issues in the past and was replaced with Revision J. It is one of the first ones with daughter-board but I still would like to see if it can be rescued. I understand all I need is a PSU so I can plug her and test.
Any ideas where I can find a PSU which will work with the TT?
Thanks
Michal

You can use a normal PC Style AT Powersupply ...

Thanks Frank,
will have a look and maybe try old AT tower with PSU as there are few of those on eBay. Any mods needed or it just works?

no mods needed ...
You can also use a ATX one with a ATX-AT Adapter.

Try it with the PSU you have on the working TT maybe?

It is an option but don’t want to end up with two not working ones :)
Only starting tinkering with them and just managed to get one working with new card, storm and lightning. This is the old one - do you think it make sense to try and resurrect it? All I can do really is plug it and see if it is working. If not I can look for someone who could do some more advanced diagnostics?

@mgi Please note I've edited your post so the image is not an attachment, but inline instead.

With regards to your repairs, my advice would be to remove anything that isn't standard so that you have only a base machine to work with. It'll make troubleshooting a lot easier if you don't have to factor in additional items that you can add later once the mainboard is running again.

Sorry for messing up in my post, will follow guidance next time.
As you said I want to test the bare motherboard as on the picture. Plug the power, monitor and see if there is no smoke.
Cheers
Michal

@mgi before you fire it up I would just check there are no shorts between the 12V,5V,GND and the negative power lines with a multimeter.

That’s the plan!
