Hi again,

This is a service blog for the following Falcon:
CA401332-003 Rev D/C
Y43502003362

(Will upload to motherboard photo forum once cleaned)

Problems:
Instability when running ct60 accelerator
Faulty monitor port

Plans:

Replace monitor port
Clock patch install
New NV-RAM
Maybe re-cap..
A thorough good cleaning

Just cleaning up the monitor port section. Hopefully I can find a male db19 connector for this somewhere.

Makes me wonder what is above all those big wonky caps ? I don't think I ever came across a Falcon where they were soldered on straight.. I mean are they even all actually connected, and if not are they causing some odd faults with whatever is above them...

Just finding ways to convert a female right angle db19 to male. I used solder paste and my heat gun to solder these little pins.

I'll pop some araldite glue underneath the white base next and try to make a shroud.

I think pins on DSUB connectors are ⌀0,9 mm and tuned pin headers are ⌀0,5 or ⌀0,6mm? They look a bit thin. Have you tested them so they make connection?

On the other hand that looks great and neatly done.

I did play around a bit with making a DB19 out of a DB25. I cut the male connector shroud a bit short so I had to use a bit of metal to solder them both together. The female is also made out of DB25 and I soldered the shroud and filed it down. I'm sure the male connector can be made much neater.

I didn't spent that much time on them and they where not made for anyone and not made to be shown... :shock: :?
