Hello people!

I want to share with you the adventures with my first Atari home computer:

Recently purchased:

Next, after waiting few months, I have purchased from EXXOS Shop the STE booster v1 :twisted:

First thing is locate the 68K socket:

We must desolder it. I have used a desolder gun, overall it didn't cost me much but the ground pins were worse than a toothache.

For the ground pins I use a technique that consists of lifting the pin from the socket and heating the pin with the soldering iron until it is released.

Then a manual desoldering machine was the most effective.

Now is moment to solder the Booster v1:

Next.. I have soldered the cables:

And some days after, the dual TOS came from the exxos store (I forgot to buy the TOS IC)

I had a little technical problem and I had to stop the assembly temporarily. I had an electrical problem that was solved.

I want to thank the kindness of @exxos that helped me solve the problem sending me some small spare parts so that I could continue...

He also warned me that the STE RAM SIMM was no adecuate (simm with parity)

Shortly after, exxos manufactured new dual TOS plates, a little longer that avoided desoldering the original EPROM sockets, as I was lazy 8-) to desolder the sockets I bought a unit from the dual TOS kit:

Attach it is very simple:

Now we have the dual TOS version selectable with a jumper. I the future I wil put a switch.

The last step, is to desolder from ground the cable that switches between the mode 8Mhz to 32mhz and test the news capabilities:

I have to say that since I turning on the Atari computer the operation of the STE Booster v1 is very noticiable. The RAM test happens like a bullet. After the TOS start very easy and manage the windows of TOS is much more comfortable.

I have not done many more test but I am satisfied with the result.

Now I'm waiting for a new PSU from Exxos,s Shop, but the PSU is another history to share with you.
