TF536 rev 2b on A1000

The card works perfectly on the A1000 with the kickstart adapter. I am using this one: https://www.amigalove.com/viewtopic.php?t=540

It is a _very_ tight fit but I was able to put back the floppy, the metal shield and to close the case with everything still working! *phew*

I needed one additional 68k riser to lift the card above the daughterboard, and also had to put a piece of plastic between the bottom of the 536 and the daughterboard so they don't end up shorting accidentally, but having said that it works great.

Did you have to solder the 68030 directly to the TF536 to get the shield back on?

It’s all a bit too tight with the dual kickstart version, so I assume this was with the single?

There was plenty of height IIRC. its the fit with the floppy that looks tight.

Yes, single kickstart, to be honest I have never seen the point of dual Kickstarts considering you can load them all from the flash card when needed. Back in the day when we had 1 MB ram it made sense. Today it makes no sense at all.

The CPU is socketed so no headroom issues. The biggest issue is wrapping the floppy cable around the board and folding the CF card cable in the right way.

Oh and the boot time is about 15 seconds...

Wow I think I will try your accelerator in my second A1000. I use a 520 Classic on my other A1000.

A Diagrom/3.1 combo makes a lot of sense here, especially if you’re testing cards. Even if not, 1.3/3.1 gives you that ability to return that 1000 to it’s native OS and boot old floppies.
