Hi there,

I have a bunch of ram chips, of which I guess some of them are not working. Is there a modern stand-alone way to test individual chips?

I've built a couple of DRAMduinos, they're cheap and easy, though they only cover 41256 & 4164 chips

Wouldnt that cover all of the ST 32kb DIP memory modules?

It covers the majority of ST/F/M machines with 41256 chips, yes.

However there are some exceptions where there are different chips in play, such as in the Megas where chips of larger capacity than 256kb are used and some which have surface mount RAM, and some STFMs that also use surface mount RAM that you'd require some sort of adaptor in order to be able to plug them into the DRAMDuino.

I wasn't sure what range of RAM chips you had and only suggested it as it's a relatively quick and cheap way of checking the most prolific RAM found in ST's.
