HI icky my first question can a mega ste boot with 256 100 ns memory part number c301962 4 of them or maybe you can point me at the right area

That will be 1Mb RAM and is normal for a computer from that era that not been upgraded. You can fit four 1Mb SIMM modules instead to get it to 4Mb. 30pin/no party.
