Way back someone posted some alliance RAM for TSSOP-54 that would give us 256Mb in total. Cant find the chips now.

is 16M x 16 the biggest we can get in this package?

Cant find them from cell phone also,
however found these:
AS4C32M16SC-7TIN
AS4C32M16SB-7TCN
IS42S16320F-7TL
would give 128MB in pair

EDIT
Oh no, seems it was too early, was a brainfart..

So those will give us 128Mb it seems. I remember someone saying there was a 64M x 16 chip out there but i havent been able to find it.

I can't find any 64x16 either. It looks like 32x16 is our best bet. Still fairly pricey though, but there is nothing else available in 3.3V as far as I can tell.

I would probably be happy to put a firmware for 128Mb and 64Mb together provided everyone can live with me only testing one of the options. Basically the firmware bundle will have both options in it but i'd only test 128Mb.

Wonder if there is a way to let the Autoconfig auto detect the ram size up to 256Mb.

I don't believe that autoconfig can do this (I may be wrong though). I always thought it was up to the card to declare the amount of RAM? Anyway I like the idea of being able to build a lower cost 64M and a higher cost 128M versions, but don't go there if it's gonna be too complicated to implement.

Its interesting to follow along with you guys on this Journey.

As an ST and A500+ owner I'm wondering if you plan to go to 128mb on the TF536 as well? Just out of curiosity, No idea what I'd use it all for :)

Nah. There is utterly no point in putting 128Mb on an 030 ECS machine. 64Mb is more than enough and it keeps the price down.

Might be useful for linux installs on an ST though?

Thats got to be like 0.1% of users who would ever do that and if you install 128Mb of RAM on the board it would work with linux anyway. ST would need autoconfig removed and a firmware tweak anyways.
