Hello,
i just stumbled on an odd error and I'd like to ask other users do they have similar problems, or is it only related to my builds only..

have 4x TF534 cards here, these are perfectly working under Fast File System, however they don't under PFS. TF534 card boots with PFS, but if i start to navigate folders - screen goes black followed by reboot. This is the case if i try to open "S" folder, for example. Also it happens on some WHDLoad games..
I have asked Mark to send me his image of 8GB card, tested it, and it does the same with his image too, so i can be sure it's NOT my install that craps out..
Will be glad to hear about Your experience related to TF534 vs PFS file system..

Hi Viktor, ask Toni Willen as he might have the answer or I don`t know if he has an A500 so someone can donate a TF534 to him to investigate, just a couple of Idea`s to throw into the mix

I'm running an OFS boot partition (300 MB), with a PFS data partition (3.7 GB). Different configuration than yours, but mine works fine.

Here's my config:

TF534
68EC030 @ 40 mhz
68882
1 MB Chip RAM + 4 MB Fast RAM
KS3.1 + WB3.1
4GB CF
PFS 3.0

I've never knowingly used PFS. Not against it I just keep to the well travelled paths of FFS.

Have done further tests - it's very odd, looks like card is working fine for the most of time, however, if i try to open "S" folder - it freezes for about 40-50 seconds. If i don't press anything and wait patiently - it loads that folder and starts to work as usual, but as soon as i reopen it - Amiga freezes for a long period of time (again)..

Have tried different CF Cards and different TF534's, also moved from A500 to A2000 to eliminate hardware errors, but it is the same error on different setups. This is the real reason why I've asked for a standard firmware with int2 wire, seems that it's the IDE that craps out..

how can u use large (8/16GB) drives with FFS?
Are You using 3.1.4?

Have tested this image on CD32 with TF328 - and got same result, so this is image Mark sent me after all..

That is strange as that image works fine on my TF328 and TF330, but I do not have a A500 TF534 so can`t test it.
also it is for AGA CWB WB 3.1 based machines and that is what the problem may be

Hi Mark,
can You please try to open "S" folder on WB partition? i am aware that this image was shipped with Your cards, hence i was sure it is ok, tried it with CD32 and TF328 and getting same behaviour, so really don't know what is going on there..it is just abnormal that it takes so long to load a folder...
Im glad this is image and not TF534 related so will be able to iron this out..

Yes bud it does hang with the S folder but that is because there so much stuff in it lol so it takes an age to show all the files, the thing is this is an old early image now and has not been shipped with TF328 for over 12 months and the new image that I ship uses about 4mb on boot so your TF534 will not boot with it :(
I will see if I have another image for you with PFS3 that will use minimal ram on boot that you can test but wont be able to check till tomorrow bud

I dont. I don't use large disks or 3.1.4.

I dont use 3.1.4 at all because you need to install stuff and then the disk doesnt work with another kickstart... so its useless for my purposes. Also there is no CD32 version. I dont plan to use any non Commodore version of the OS.

I dont need large disks to do what i do and i needs to work with FFS in testing.. So thats it.

I also dont like installing and tweaking things. I want stuff to work out of the box so i just use a pretty vanilla ClassicWB setup.
