THE GOOD NEWS:
I have managed to source around 50 BLITTERS after searching constantly for months/years!

THE BAD NEWS:
These were far from cheap to obtain. Though they are still probably cheaper than BEST. Price will likely be about £38 each and will be added to my store once I have tested them.


PROGRESS:
I will not likely have them until the end of next week. Then I have to test each one out before adding to my store. Hopefully there won't be many failures as I have to factor that price in aswell.. So price may well jump a couple ££ depending.. So I expect in about 2 weeks they will be available to buy in my store.

I have only announced it here for the time being. I am giving forum members "first-dibs heads up". These may well be the last lot of blitters obtainable, finding these was almost a fluke!


OTHER:
I am not taking pre-orders as I don't know the final price yet. Also if every one fails... I don't want to start taking peoples money..

I will post more news as it happens.

Thats good news, where do old atari parts hide other than best anyway. I find best pretty irritating, claim they have pal-loads of tt's but their not selling them until their refurbished, only have one tech who is working 7 days a week. Did they ever thing of hiring another? Said in four or five years they may get to them.. just to busy now.. :( :( :( Load of bull...

There is a lot of controversy surrounding them and hard to work out what is what. I know it has been talked about a lot over the years.. The general theory is they are actually running out of stock, and they have nowhere near stuff they actually claim to have.

As for the blitters, very strange how and where these things pop up from. I have been told that there has been someone in the USA who had 100+ of the SGS blitters and someone has been buying them regularly.. But they only have 6 left and the price was higher than the price I am going to sell mine at.. So I did not bother buying them.. But really, who has been buying and selling these in the USA all this time and nobody knew about it ?

There is only BEST I know of.. Even though I have no grounds to base this on, who's to say that BEST even have a stock of them and they are actually buying them from somewhere else... It would possibly fit with the high price for them, but then again all BEST IC stuff is high priced..

I really wonder if anyone has purchased a blitter form them and it was a SGS part ?

Yes, I find them a lot questionable, I had the web page up and ask the guy if it was accurate? Yes, everything there we have. No tt available, no bare motherboard.. and a couple other things. I believe stories are fishy. I did buy a glitter from best at premium prices for the exxos-st. See pic..

Ah so there goes my theory then. Thats a National part... So mystery where those SGS blitters are going.

I've bought many different chips from Best and the delivery has been prompt. A lot of other items that I've tried to buy have been out of stock though. It's hard to know what's available. Seems like all machines and larger parts are mostly out of stock. What's making it worse though is that they limited the number of items I was allowed to buy to around 5 for the last couple of orders I placed. Presumably because they were too busy to process larger orders. They also refused to sell some items to me because they considered it not being worth the time and effort to find the items in their warehouse. So buying from Best can be quite a challenge to say the least.

Oh, great news regarding the Blitters by the way! Awesome find Chris!

I too struggled with them. Tried to order quite a few items and they said they were out of stock. When I reduced the number of items and ordered via a different email address they were available.

I too bought a Glitter for the Remake from BEST.
