Exxos and I had been discussing repurposing the IDE DEV board design into a new DEV board that we can test Flash ROM and Exxos' Falcon RTC module.

Ultimately this is about being able to test these areas out and that they eventually make their way into the STF Remake and other boards.

Its a little smaller than the IDE board but will allow us to continue the journey :)

One size fits all :)

Btw, which clock module you thinking of using? Things like the DS1307 are very capable and very cheap as well.

I'm already producing the falcon clock modules, so this dev-board will use one of those. I'm actually more interested in the NVRAM side of things to store settings for the SEC booster etc. Though of course, this can ultimately be ported to the STF remake project.

Writing the software to program the flash and NVRAM is going to be the most time consuming thing. I will probably uses STOS to peek and poke to the NVRAM until I figure it all out. Then try and figure out how to code a simple GEM app.. So huge amount of work to be getting on with. Of course if anyone is good at GEM programming it would make life a whole lot easier.

Flashy Clock DEV board is a little bit smaller than the IDE DEV board.

Currently Exxos has sent the board design off to the fab to be created.

To work out how to program nvram from gem why not ask the bloke to makes HD driver, he made a tool to program the falcon nvram.

Didn't know that. But not sure falcon software would run on the ST, but I also want to use the NVRAM registers which I don't think has been used before. Though Uwe isn't terribly helpful unfortunately.

There will be a register list for the ST & NVRAM module, so its just a matter of peeking and poking data about. Its just finding time to look at it all more than anything.

And now we have a board. Thanks to exxos for sending these off to be born :) Now just need to build one up.
