I was looking at this one ..

I thought as this one has PC software, it will be more suitable for my needs and be cheaper...But nope...£45-55K :shock: :shock:

Never thought about that! do a one second reset time on power up reliably though ?

I have also been looking into pick and place machines...

Again these things are pretty expensive... While changing reels would be incredibly annoying... Most of the parts I use on my projects I always try to use similar values and types so I don't have to keep buying so many different parts all the time.So such a machine in my case could be loaded up with generic parts and do probably all the SMT parts I use on most projects.

So a big enough pull down on the reset line and then setting a pin to high after a timer has run out ought to do it?

Yeah, but in order not to cause problems, the timer should keep the line low for 1 second ideally.
