Could be taken both ways with my recent trip :)

But it was meant for you :)

Just done the 16mhz mod.

Well, I either get a row of bombs or a 50mhz screen but the tos 1.04 bit doesn't come up.

The wires are a bit messy on the board but its wired like the guide. Will try shortening the wires later and see if that helps

50mhz screen ?

Row of bombs may well be normal... power off for 15 seconds, press the reset button.. power back on again... there's a 1 in 4 chance of it working on boot up.. thats why I am working on the sync fix mod to try and solve it.

Ok, so it's probably normal then. The CPU is halted, hence the doing nothing, so its probably the timing thing you mentioned in the other thread.

I shall put it in the shelf and wait patiently for the next mod, lol.

P.s is this the quickest anyone has broken an Alpha after fixing it?

you need to keep power cycling to prove it can boot up at some point first though.. if you can't get it to boot in like 10 tries.. then likely you have a problem to debug.. it would be easier to debug that now before adding in another mod into the mix.

Will give it a go.

As a reminder, is it all clocks on all chips that are doubled or just the DMA, MMU, glitter and CPU?

MMU 32mhz
CPU & glitter 16mhz

All other clocks end up doubled so have to be clocked by the 161 to the stock speeds.

So glue,DMA,mfp,1772 all need stock speeds.
