Working on the booster part now..

Was supposed to be this...

but ended up like this...

IMG_5117.JPG

.. Basically because there was one bent pin, and by the time I got the CPU out of the socket.. Broke the socket.. Ended up with more bent pins... Ripped a couple of tracks up on the PCB... I ended up just stacking sockets and putting my ZIF adapter in as had enough of those DIP's!

So we ended up with this...

And later on this...

IMG_5119.JPG

I don't know if this will work with ultrasatan... I really cannot be bothered at this point to start messing around with it all... I do not expect there to be any issues but you never know with all this stuff

Anyway, the blitter test has just finished..

A accelerator like the terrible fire ones can be plugged into this board.. The board is just used as a TOS206 decoder. of course with correct firmware on the terrible fire boards, the effective ROM speed can be up to 32MHz.

So the booster is been a bit of a pain, I don't know why  It is very hit and miss if turning on the computer boots up, I did think at first this could be a wake up state issue, but pressing reset several times generally lets it boot up..

And not really sure why this is happening yet. It is possible it is because I had to scrimp on IO pins on the PLD as I didn't have enough pins for a RESET signal to it :( But even so I don't really know why this would be a problem anyway.

Nothing seems to be wrong with anything. Through the CPU clock is pretty bad which I think isn't helping. So buffer and other bits added in... will "retire" the current boards to TOS206 only boards while the waiting on the new boards....

Started to test out some 68B50's for my store.. Socket broke after just 4 chip changes

Have to go hunting to see if I can find some turnpin sockets now...
