Zterm is what worked, though I don't have a license key ATM, so it will run for about 15 mins and shuts down, and also drops in a nag screen here and there. Still looking for something that's free and will work.

I may need to install stuff using ActiveSync, which might be fun!

I managed to find a copy of 24term, free, so no nag screens or time limits:

Admittedly not as nice as Zterm, but it'll do the trick.

Getting something to work is the hardest bit no doubt. I'll have a think and if I go ahead with my daft idea I'll post the results.

BTW I did try TeraTerm, PocketPutty and something called TTY.

TTY did install, but wouldn't run. To be fair it complained during the install. The others wouldn't run at all, and Zterm needed a specific installer to work.

24term just needed the included font file dropping into the fonts folder, then it was happy.

Ooh, nice!

I keep looking for this sort of kit but the price is always outside my budget. :(

I bought them new a long time ago, maybe 8 years or more ago. Prices do seem to remain high though. I have an Electribe EA-1 too, those seem to have gone up in price a lot since i got it.

I have a Monotribe too, I must dig all this stuff out.

Been shopping again

Atari-SALT-Cart-Pic.jpeg

Quite inexpensive though at £16 including postage.

It's good to have proper test and diagnostic tools, this one is for the A8s.

What sort of level of diags does it have? Can it run without operational RAM, for example?
