Your journey to mouse balls seems not to be over yet...

It isn't, and I heard back from a Chinese supplier who can supply 20mm rubber coated balls, however the postage cost for samples is $36 and the balls are only 40c a unit. I don't want to order a hundred without seeing a sample TBH so that's not going to work for me.

I'll keep at it myself.

I think it was ruled they were not quite round enough nor heavy enough. And too fun.

Believe it or not I had these in my basket the other day, but when I looked closely at the image the seams were really quite terrible, and in fact much worse than the ones that arrived today, so I took them out, though I am considering revisiting.

Ok, so I've decided to have another crack at this. Doing some digging and there are metal powders available for cold casting.

So I've ordered some and I'll try casting another ball, but this time a mix of resin and metal powder, the idea being that it'll add just enough extra weight to be comparable with the original ball, and will hopefully work.

I'll update when I've had a chance to give it a go.

Good idea and really worth trying.

I can't remember if you tried a 20mm ball bearing like this: https://www.ballandrollerstore.com/modu ... rome-steel

I did, and it fits perfectly, just doesn't grip the rollers. I also tried Delrin, perfect size and texture but too light.
