Well, the Behringer is fixed and reassembled now the bad caps are replaced :




All the outputs are now working as expected 😁

Another project off the bench 👍

I noticed the build date when I was reassembling it, 06 05, so it would have been built during the capacitor plague period.

At least it works now, fingers crossed it was just those big ones on the outputs and the rest will be ok, 'cause there are a truckload of other electrolytics, though none seem to have any signs of leakage and all are relatively small.

Time for a project update I think:

1. Mac Classic- Get an RGB2HDMI and try setting up the logic board I have from my own Classic plus the one from @Tomswork (Thanks again Tom :)) This has moved right up the to do list and is going to be next after the Spectrum :)
2. 2x H4s to build!! This is why I don't have an H5 yet. These are
3. Finish case repairs for Mega ST keyboard. Ongoing.
4. Work out what's wrong with my Spectrum. Now on the bench ready for repairs to commence :)
5. Reassemble my retro area to include more machines! I'm calling this done :)
6. Scour previous posts for other projects I may have half abandoned and probably should resurrect! I've not found any more, let me know if you all do :)
7. GeaseWeazel stuff.... Still in one of the unpacked boxes, but low priority
8. See if I can get the Apha board running. Low down the priority list, but still here.
9. Build Electron ULA replacement(I have the PCB, just need the BOM) On hold due to the chip shortage. Thanks to @Icky for trying to find an alternative. I have no idea when this will get on the move.
10. BBC B ROM and other related stuff. Still ow down the priority list.
11. Do any stuff in the BASIC TROUBLESHOOTING section that I have either forgotten or couldn't do because my stuff was in storage! I think this is mostly up to date, though I have one article outstanding
12. FDD fixes (Seltron & Atari 1050) Ongoing, The 1050 is done and dusted, so happy with that, The Seltron is still an almost there, but lack of schematics is a problem, though I still feel the problem is the disk speed control circuit.

Well, That list is longer than I thought, but I guess I need some stuff to do over winter!!

That is a busy list before Christmas I just have a old ibm 5170 motherboard to finish and the atari 2600. And I am waiting on 3d printer upgrade parts

I like your list better than mine!! It just never seems to get much smaller!

In fact the Behringer I just repaired didn't even make it to the list IIRC!!

Yeah, that's a bit of a bonus. :lol:

So once the Mac is dealt with, next up I'll be going for a bit of a resto on the Speccy +2.

It's 'sort of' working in that it does see and load stuff on tape:


But so far nothing has loaded properly, and it does weird stuff on reset, in that it doesn't! It's like the RAM isn't clearing as you never get the boot menu back without pulling the PSU out of the mains.

Wondering if it has dodgy caps in there somewhere.

We'll see, but Mac next :)
