Anyone had odd scrollbar issues in Wine ? Seems they start black, then when I switch tabs, they appear in a oddly corrupted way, and scrolling leaves black lines as the bar moves

Think Chrome updated now the thing has gone like 50% transparent :WTF: Seems someone else had the same issue couple yaers back,
Can't get my cam to connect to upload a image. Seems I am getting problems faster than I can fix them

Reading that it seems to be some quirk with the Cinnamon desktop. No idea tho since I use gnome.

I think Chrome is buggered. FF behaves and everything else does. The black scroll bars is odd, but not important really.
The biggest problem if finding some voice regonition program which actually makes sense. Kinda had enough looking for solutions for stuff. Been at it all day again :(
I just think Linux while good as it is, its just not "there yet" for users like me. Maybe in another 10+ years.. maybe..
EDIT:
The whole desktop seems nuts now. I loaded steem and its half transparent and the desktop icons are going over the steem window :WTF:

Have you rebooted? Please, if you're thinking of quitting Linux please consider trying one more distro. I really don't rate Mint/Cinnamon. If you want Debian-based give MX Linux a go. If you want to stretch your legs into Arch try Manjaro (maybe Plasma or Gnome editions, I know some traditionalists dislike the gnome desktop, but it's basically very similar to Mac OS these days, I personally love it, especially with Dash2Dock which is enabled by default in Manjaro, but you'd probably prefer Plasma)

Well GG works well, so that is something at least.

Doesn't seem to be any way to past in drive locations , only copy them
I don't think the distro is overly the problem, its the lack of software and how complicated everything is. It all still seems very much "CLI" for everything.

It seems to be going worse
Though it did seem to lockup doing updates earlier. I left it for a hour, but it turned my monitor off. I forced power down and rebooted. Then I saw more animations on the desktop, so I think a lot of stuff updates.. and broke today.

Saying that, I think steem uses chrome, so could be why

@Steve are you running the latest version of chrome ? If so open up 2 chrome windows and see if it goes nuts for you...
I may stick mx Linux on my laptop and see how it behaves. Mint as it stands just seems a little bit to primative on desktop usage for me.

I'll test out chrome when I get home and let you know. In the mean time check out this very informative video on MX Linux:
You'll see how much easier the installation and hard disk aspects are compared to what you've previously seen, plus he demonstrates the 'MX Tools' which are very handy GUI tools for doing almost anything you need on the system (less reliance on CLI)

Not sure which desktop would be better for me though  PITA if I have to try both of them. Also need to find another harddrive
