czietz wrote: 19 Oct 2021 12:30 PS: If you want to test my hypothesis, you can use @thorsten.otto's inofficial but excellent custom EmuTOS building service:
http://tho-otto.de/emutos/.

Select "Output: emutos.prg" at the top, leave all options as they are except for disabling "3D Objects" and click on "Create EmuTOS image". That gives you a customized EMUTOSUS.PRG, without AES 3D objects which I think are the issue here.
Hey sorry @czietz I didn't notice your instuctions earlier on how to proceed.

I have just tested it and your hypothesis is correct!

Tony.

You can still try it, since you are using the prg version and don't have to burn eproms, that should be rather easy ;)
If you do something stupid..erm.. something that the tool/config system did not expect, then you most likely will get compile errors. If compilation works, it will send you also the localconf.h that was used, so if something goes wrong you can post that on the mailing list.

The tool itself does not do much checking, it relies on the rather exhaustive consistency checks in config.h. But trying to build emutos locally is almost the same, except that you have to create that localconf.h manually.
I hadn't spotted the instructions from czietz. I tested it and it worked with 3D Objects disabled. 8-)

Last call before I ditch it.

Beautiful looking thing but it has some sort of power issue.

Does anyone know somebody who would be willing to come have a look at it in the Halifax area?

Wasn't sure where to post this...p.s. just sent someone a birthday card and forgot the stamp.

Notator menu lag was sorted on EmuTOS version 1.0

I didn't notice this due to my using NVDI at the time of version 0.9.12 onwards.

This is great since NVDI was making one of the note axis disappear in Music Mouse!

I have noticed that although the image problems introduced to Notator in the latest version of EmuTOS were fixed on my 3D objects disabled build, the file menu still looks different:

Original:

Original (small file).jpg

Latest EmuTOS snapshot (even with 3d objects off):

Latest EmuSHOT (small file).jpg

I suppose that could grow on me (assuming it doesn't mean something else is amiss somewhere)

Seems a pretty bizarre decision to intentionally create a blank area and make the box physically larger for no reason at all

I can't see any difference. What am I supposed to be looking at?

The OK and CANCEL buttons have moved making the box bigger.

Not life breaking, I just noticed when I was confirming that the lag on Notator without NVDI had gone on version 1.0.prg onwards. :)
