Those nasty 4116s are always failing.

It didn’t help that someone had tried a repair on two of the 4116s and damaged a trace whilst at it, so was a good job I ripped out all the old ram.

@PhilC - careful that @Icky doesn't think you are trying to muscle in on his thumb modelling action there!
I know it's a different digit, but he might have plans to expand his involvement in the near future :)

I watched an Adrians Digital Basement ages ago with a TI99/4a and it was easily possible to bridge power rails and other tracks due to poor conformal coating on the PCB. One to watch out for.
I really like my TI and if you don't have a FinalGROM cart I'd recommend them and there is a seller on eBay called voidabone who is very good. I got a FinalGROM, a TI dual joystick adapter, a TI 32K RAM upgrade, a CoCoSDC and a Dragon 32 Atari joystick adapter from them. Prices were very good and the 3d printed cases are decent.
This is a link to the store on ebay here:

Thanks for the link @rubber_jonnie , not sure what I’ll do with the TI-99 yet. I’m hoping to keep just a select few computers in the end and not sure if that’s on the list just yet.

The TI was one of the computers I wanted when I was younger. It looked fabulous with the black plastic and brushed aluminium, I already had the 800XL by then though, and the TI was very expensive at the time.
So, I just had to have one for my 'Computers of my Childhood' collection.
I got mine from
@mrbombermillzy and I have to say I'm very pleased with it. The FG cart makes it very usable and the component video output is the best I've seen on any computer from that era.
Keep on for yourself is my advice :)

@rubber_jonnie i may sell on the good one and keep the battered one as that kind of fits in with the theme of computers I collect.

I can see where you're coming from with that :)

My thumb has been in the wars recently. The new puppy has been at it.
