I'll have a look at the ROM contents next week and get back to you.

Will also check the Greaseweazle settings I have for ADF images.

Brilliant, thank you.

@HigashiJun

I just noticed when I try to connect with FTPc its trying todo so with FTPS rather than FTP. I can't see any way to configure the in use protocol though.

It is and that is the only option avaliable.

OK, it seems I did take a backup of everything and I put it on my server using Sunfish.

And, with a bit of man in the middle help from my MSTE (My server has no FDD so I used it to get files over onto FDD from my server) I now have Sunfish working and I should be able to retrieve my full backup of my boot drive :)

That's in progress at the moment so it should all be good very soon and back as it was before I had to repair it again!!!

Well, I'm happy to say the A5000 is 100% back to where it was before everything went wrong :)

Whilst having an off machine backup was a good idea, it did rather rely on Sunfish working in order to get it back, which took a bit of doing, so I now have 2 local backups, one on the IDE drive, the other on one of the SCSI drives.

The good thing about using Sunfish was that it did preserve all the Archie file attributes, so I didn't have any issues there.

Very happy with the results, I honestly thought this machine was toast.
