Try it with nofastmem and if possible use the NVRAM firmware

I might have run into the same or similar issue: transferring files via AExplorer from the PC to an A500 (with TF536 and buffered IDE) over serial cable (either 38400 or 56700baud). The transfer randomly locks up the machine. Serial should stress IRQs quite well...

I should clarify that my random freezing while reading only happened once in a blue moon, not all the time or anything. Most of the time it's fine, like this week I ran it casually for a couple of hours, wiggled the board and cables, no lockups.

I had planned to look at this sometime in May but my interest in fixing this has been dramatically reduced by the actions of some people on facebook.

The best solution to this would be to take the PIO mode 4 code from the TF1260 and back port it into the TF536.

But that simply cannot happen before Mid May as I am moving and my A500 based machines are in storage.

Focus on your move and if one day you feel like re-visiting it, great! if you don't, it ain't the end of the world!

My issue is the A500s i have are in storage. I am about to pack up my 3000s and 4000s and send them to storage too. The A1200s are going to follow ..

I am picking up an A500+ tomorrow but its supposed to be dead... so who knows.

OK so here is what I plan to do for the TF536 firmware.

I will fix this. The firmware will not be public. You will need to send your TF536 to one of the trusted builders to get it fixed. If you are one of those bad mouthing me you will not get it fixed unless you pay £1000.

I am through being a nice guy anymore.
