@Badwolf

I grabbed your flash tool from your github. Though it seems to crash when says erasing flash ?

I had to use the jumper link on the board to disable the flash to allow me to boot, so I assume that is the correct way of going about it ? and it doesn't actually disable the flash from being erased as well ?

EDIT:

OK so it seems use the DISABLE jumper then use the flash tool

Needs error checking for idiots which do it as I did originally ;)

Now running from flash :D

IMG_0731.JPG

So let me do some mathematical guesswork here...

STE booster 368% at 32MHz.
368% / 2 = 184% (16MHz)

FALCON 100% at 16MHz.
Now 176%.

So pretty close I guess. Though the flash is 70ns not 55ns like on the STE booster.

327% (based against 8MHz STE) ROM Speed with CPU cache.
268% (based against 8MHz STE) ROM Speed without CPU cache

I guess working it out per clock cycle at 50MHz = 20ns

1 clock ) 20 ns
2 clock ) 40 ns
3 clock ) 60 ns
4 clock ) 80 ns

I think BW has it set to "4" so I guess 3 might work as it probably takes the CPU a cycle to latch the data anyway

Lets try it anyway.. :fire: :hide: :fire:

Computer says... "M"

50MHz with MAPROM :)

It's just thinking about it. It didn't say "No"

Next problem is that MAPROM doesn't seem to like being loaded from AUTO

Next with NVDI. Though I had to load NVDI first and then MAPROM from desktop. So I assume NVDI is running from ST RAM not alt-ram

I think my monitor might be dying as it keeps losing sync :(

So this is with AUTO booted older version of MAPROM & NVDI.

That's all looking very promising.

Of course it's the demos which trip things up as they push the system to the limit. I seem to remember that they were what showed up incompatibilities on the original board.

I think BadMood might be a good test. But I haven't been able to get my SD card to work on my PC and Falcon. So I am stuck with floppies for transferring data over

Of course if there is any demos which will fit on a floppy I will gladly give them a try. But if there are problems, its likely going to be beyond my scope of diagnosing such problems. Currently it will pass FPU, GB6, YAARTTT perfectly well. That's about all I can do here. As far as I concerned it is a lot more stable than the original and basically just have to get them tested and in store now really.

Just hit 100 passes on GB6. It's been running GB6 with alt-ram and NVDI just fine. All at 50MHz CPU & FPU. Seems stable to me 8-)
