Idea of ordering one is growing on me. May I ask what model would be the best for basis of this?
I have spare STe board and STFM case. Would I be better off with STFM board?

You need a ST/F/M to rob the chips and connectors off.

Just ordered the H4 board...I'm one of the few interested in having the SMT stuff pre-fitted if possible.

I'm going to shortly order some other bits from the store to be shipped with the board.

Just need to see which of my STs is going to make the ultimate sacrifice for this new board :(

I need to look into assembly for my own boards as well, but this may not happen until after xmas now as I'm getting busy work work leading up to xmas .

I need to do a whole new parts list as I will be buying parts from local suppliers and some of the parts I have in my own stock to build up a few boards so don't need to order everything. But this will take some time to do.

No rush on my account, just wanted to support your work.
Depending on how the repairs to some of my other STs goes, I might order some parts before then & get the rest with the H4.
Just let me know when you can.

I would be interested in one of these.

Well this is difficult to say, because only you know your skill level for building. But this is still a dev-machine, so it may not work even if built 100% perfectly. We just don't know until people start building it. Though as these have SMT parts, I don't recommend trying to build it unless you are good at soldering.

There will be some assembled boards being done, but this will come much later, and boards still need to be pre-ordered for that, as I am not going to keep a stock of them.

when you say fully assembled or just with the SMT parts assembled ?
as I would be fine with through hole but not the SMT parts.
