Yup, and I will be really fed up with (de-)soldering for quite a while now...

Yeah, the de-soldering is a huge project all on it's own!

Yay! I'm sure that the magic will stay in the chips... Though probably best remove the expensive ones first before first power on.

Definitely good advice. I usually start with only passives installed and slowly build up to adding the more expensive IC's.
