The webpage which does the checking will soon be retired for a inbuilt system in peoples user Control Panel.

Rather than having the page open to the world to check bans, this page got constantly abused , so it alternated between registered users and guest access quite a few times so far.
The idea is that if someone should get mistakenly banned , or just happen to have a IP rotation on a IP address which was previously banned, they can simply login I different IP address or device or proxy or whatever, and they can check their normal IP address and un-ban themselves.
Rate limits have been placed on the page, and moderators will be sent notifications of usage on the page. This is because at some point a spammer will likely gain access to the forum and start un-banning their own IP addresses. So if anything suspicious like that happens, the moderators already know of it happening.
If people cannot figure out how to change IP address, then people can shout out in virtually any other Atari forum or group for help. Then another member can pass a message over to a moderator to un-ban.
Users should not get banned in the first place, and I'm working on systems to make sure that does not happen in the first place but obviously there is always going to be false positives and needs to be a relatively easy and simple system to get removed. So hopefully the UCP option will now be the simplest way of checking..
