I'll see if i can get hold of one of those 3Com cards and test with the up coming 1232.
EDIT: Annoyingly none in the UK. All in the US
If another proves hard to find I could lend you my card if you're happy to post it back once the issue is resolved.

Just to confirm, having now tested with and without the TF1230 in place, the internet/PCMCIA card works completely fine when I take the TF1230 out and replace it with my RAM 5.5Meg expansion. Certainly points towards the TF1230 card

I suspect i know what the issue is. Its due to PCMCIA decoding based on the lower 24 address bits and ignoring the OVR/PUNT signals. Same reason the card and the Solas dont work. Rob and I spent an evening with the logic analyser looking at why that happened.

Ah! So (having just read up on the solas issue), I assume a firmware fix will not be possible.

Fair enough, I shall wait and see the outcome.

I was directed here by DanBy through Reddit.
To summarize my testing, I'm using Amiga Explorer to see how stuff performs.
My A1200 runs Lyra3, Indivision AGA MK3, CF with buffered IDE on mainboard and an TF1230 with 68030RC50C (no IDE used)
I use the standard cardreset and cardpatch lines in Startup-Sequence (C:CardPatch AND run >NIL: C:CardReset TICKS 50)
Kickstart 3.2.2 with WB 3.2.2.1
3com 3CCE589ET. Using 3c589.device. Copying from Amiga to PC is decently fast.
Copying from PC to Amiga, just times out quickly. Really small files (5kb) might be transferred.
Played with packetsize from 512 to 4096
Same card gets around 8mbps up and down when running a speedtest on Windows XP laptop.
Any wireless card I tried, has no issue whatsoever.
Linksys ver 3 model wpc11 prism2v2.device (WPA2)
Simple Mobility NL-2511CF Mercury prism2v2.device (WPA2)
I also had a Target Network PCMCIA PC Card, model 24007 with cnet.device. It has a small dongle with ethernet and BNC connector.
This one ALSO works fine (not a wireless card). Is there any hope that this can be fixed in the 3c589.device perhaps?
Sadly, I don't have any working expansion (other than the TF123) and removing the TF1230 leaves me no memory to run TCP/IP stack and Aexplorer.

As i indicated before. I think this just wont work with the 1230. My guess is if you nofastmem it will probably work. its a bug in gayle.

Did you ever get a chance to confirm this issue with the 1232 card? Just wondering if there was still a possibility of a firmware fix.

I've not had a chance thus far
