I would really suggest updating the firmware in the TF536! The very I got with the one from PhilC was very old and TOS couldn't detect the TT-RAM and it caused problems.

Any "modern" version of the TF firmware will allow TOS 2.06 to pick up the TT-RAM without an AUTO program and it'll actually work.

Myself, I gave up on using 2.06 and switched over to EmuTOS when using the TF as it was far less problematic. The other alternative (as long as you're not going to use HDDriver and have 512K ROM support) is the PAK/3 ROM, which again works a lot better than 2.06.

Only @agranlund has the source code.. The one I have is for the ST branch he was doing, but I don't know what version of the firmware this actually is.. Most of the problem is the amount of configuration options based on commandline stuff, I'm trying to do this with the Windows version, and Any innocent change I make and click compile, it does absolutely nothing, no errors or anything, so I have no idea why suddenly stops compiling.. Even copying the work folder to a different hard drive manages to break the thing.

@exxos That firmware is pre tos2.06 etc fixes, so we'll have to wait for @agranlund to get back. If I remember correctly he was away for 3 months this time last year too.

Thats the problem, I cannot indefinitely wait around for people to appear or not appear to get things done :roll:

A lot of the problem is Amiga stuff is all mixed in with this firmware as well.. The whole thing is just a total mess :( so I can only go through it line by line and check each change one by one to make sure I have not broke anything, but unfortunately this is taking a considerable amount of time also considering the actual xlinix software seriously sucks :roll: This is why I would just rather build things up from the ground up myself as I can easily make changes.

Been trying to figure these odd problems out all day but not having much luck :( @terriblefire cleaned up the files for me earlier but I have been unable to get the floppy drive working. My previous code is a mess but otherwise the floppy works.. And yet the code TF cleaned up is created from the same sources as I am using.

I've tried removing all the Amiga code out of my sources but I always end up with the ST not even resetting :roll: I've compared all the source code and cannot really see anything amiss anywhere. All the coding has set my hands hurting again, so going to leave this project for a bit now..

As all TF products are under the open licences, then anything you do has to be also open. Considering the epic of TF quitting because of people cloning and copying his work etc, its like you are siding with those people and not the author of the project. I hope you can see how bad you are making yourself look right now..

I have done a few more tests with MAPROM.. if I used the jumper on the booster to disable the cache, and the floppy works, but there seems to be no speed increase in ROM access :shrug: With the jumper removed, is noticeable desktop is running faster, but then the floppy contents get corrupted again...

I mean I could understand the floppy contents and the cache causing issues, but I can't understand how this is effecting ROM speed as well...

OK oddly ROM is 117% with cache forced off.. bonkers. alt-ram is running 904%.

Ohhh GB6 ran from ALT-RAM, didn't notice, silly me!

TTRAM Range seems to also now be behaving :D

I don't know if anyone knows how to patch TOS206 with TOS306's cache control routines ? I think this is why MAPROM is failing :(

I do not understand your problem with TOS 2.06 and the TF536.

I can boot up a PAK68/3-030 machine with a TOS 2.06 Floppy and have in the menu CACHE instead of BLITTER and can switch it ON or OFF. This is also true with a PAK68/2-020.

Is the hole CACHE (TOS 2.06) thing a Firmware issues ?
