Yeah. But it wasn't strong it kept snapping in half :roll: . After welding it 3 times , I'm not going to do the same again a 4th time. Honestly, wouldn't a new chair be simpler? I just can't see the plastic part lasting at all, after all you'll need to probably put bolt holes through it as well. After every chair ive ever bought and lasting 6-12 months... They all have the same problems, the same flawed design. They always break. Even regardless how much I spent on one. Regardless where I buy them from and what brand.

The chair I have now looked well built. It has a pullout foot rest. So you think it would cope with a lot of stress. But nope. Spending 200 a year on chairs is just pointless.
So I cut out the part which always fails. Basically 2mm thick cheap metal. I'll replace it with a 3D printed part which will be at least 45mm thick. Once it's all working fine, I'll probably get a metal one made. Then it will be physically impossible to snap 45mm thick metal part in half.
Is that safer for you - Or the bed? ;)
Thinking about it I have had to fix two beds in my lifetime as well :lol: :roll: I think everything is built so cheaply and barely adequate for the task these days it is unbelievable.
