I'm pretty sure it may be solved by changing CPU. Have seen similar issue on BFG9060 card with rev 1...

The rev 1 does work with the alpha firmware at the first power up. It just black screens if I have to power cycle it after it's been on.

Base firmware works fine no matter how many times I power cycle the machine.

The old "base" firmware as you call it barely taxes the CPU. The "alpha" is now what i consider stable.

For some reason my rev 1B board does not seem to play ball when the card is flashed with the alpha. It takes quite a few power cycles to get it past the black screen and do the rainbow flashes and boot with the alpha. When it does get past the black screen and boots it's completely stable. I've never had an issue when using the firmware that came with my card. I suspect it's my 1200 being fussy, but I don't have another one to test with.

I'm happy to stay on the firmware that came with my card as it boots every time. Hopefully I will get an opportunity to try another 1200 at some point.

It really only affects the CD32. Its in my queue.

Finally, After replacing the 32mhz oscillator on my board I can Nö use cpuspeed and Seem to be running fine at 100mhz using the Alpha Firmware.


However, it seems my SysInfo Score is still lower than what everybody else seems to get. While 4,x vs a4000/40 seems to je common, I End Up at 3,7. Any ideas?

Edit: Did some investigation and it turned out, something turned off SUPERSCALAR. So I added CPU SUPERSCALAR and BRANCHCACHE to the startup-sequence. Should be fine for Rev.6 right?

I got the firmware flashed today, using a Rasberry Pi 4 + xcs3prog. Had to disconnect 3.3v from the Pi and power up the Amiga with the board connected.

Using the alpha fimrware, I keep consistently getting 4,5MB/s maximum (measured at display mode 640x200x2, so no extra DMA in there) at all speeds (50,66,84,94,100). While this is consistent with some posts in the thread, others seem to have almost 7MB/s, which is a huge difference in real life. Any way to get me there?

Checking that you're looking at the write performance in PAL mode and absolutely nothing running in the background? Read performance doesnt go as good as 7Mb/s but thats not really important.

Ist all the Same here. Of course, write is what I care about.

Any possibility that the RAM cpld is Not properly updated here!
