I certainly don't have much faith in their international sales rep :roll:

Another email saying they cannot obtain the header pins.. Even though they said they could obtain them last week.. So now I need to put together another package to send them..

It is also typical because I just ask them to spend £180 on IC's I already had as I did not want the hassle of going through customs with another package.

My sanity is literally breaking point :pullhair: :crazy:

Yeah, the surface mount of an SRAM chip by them didn't work either unfortunately. I never did get to the bottom of that.

So thanks to @DoG for helping me solve that one. I was starting to question my own sanity on this board. Granted I have hardly slept for the past couple of weeks and had a migraine when I was designing and routing that board.. So how could it possibly fail.. :lol: :roll:

So this board will pass through TOS104 and TOS206 decode. I tried it out on the H5.. unfortunately this board will not fit under the power supply. But IIRC @DoG Did a H5 stand alone board IIRC. There are 206 decoders / boosters in my store which will do decoding anyway.

These little boards are more intended for original machines. I have got about 10 of them made so I can get them in my store hopefully next week.. With a bodge diode as well.. :lol: :roll:

Fixed DTACK bug. Then was bored and added its own BERR switch.. Because life is too short to wait for those 100 clock cycles..Then added a LED.. It grew a bit :lol: None of that newfangled PLD type rubbish here! :lol:

Pcbway saga continues. Relating to the STE boosters. They said last week they couldn't obtain the pins. So I counted 400 stripes to send them on Friday. They emailed saying their local supplier they got pins from ( news to me) they are hard to solder as they are to short. They sent me images of them . I now need to send them more money for them to fit the wrong pins. Ermmm how about no and don't fit the wrong pins :roll:

Hi I asked factory to check that 7.2MM length parts are OK to solder, the assembly pin length of 7.2MM parts measured on our side is 2.27MM.If the parts on your side is also with this length on assembly side, then we can use them for assembly. As the previous parts we received from LCSC is just 5.5MM total length, so it is short to assembly. For the rest 100pcs parts, is it OK to also change 7.2MM parts? If so, then you need to send us another $17.3 to buy new parts of U$1. You can send the payment by the following link and tell me the transaction ID for checking

So they don't need 100 header stripes.. they need all of them basically. I said I could send all 400 strips days ago, they said only need 100pcs. I'm not using PCBway again after all this. Every reply takes 24 hours so the conversation is taking weeks.

The problem seems to stem from LCSC not listing the height of the header pins. So it is my fault in that respect. But they are only really 2mm shorter and PCBway say they are difficult to solder. I thought they had already soldered 300pcs but they did not reply to my question.

It honestly would have just been quicker to take the stuff to my mate to solder it all on. I was just trying to speed things up and get everything done at the factory. But it is dragging on for weeks anyway and costing a fortune sending packages to China :(

Don't get me wrong the quality of work by PCBway has been the absolute best I have ever had with dealing with companies. But I have dealt with a LOT over the years. Unfortunately communications extremely difficult and slow with them to the point I really just cannot stand it any longer. So I'll be looking for somewhere else to assemble my boards in the future. I have used another company recently for a order so I may give them another try on my next project.

The real QTY we are lacking now is 100pcs and we already received the payment and arranged to buy the 100pcs for you. For the parts you have, you can still send to us for your new order. What confused us that we purchased at LCSC before is with model number C2881662 on LCSC and is just 5.5MM total length, the parts that you have now is not bought from LCSC but with model number X1311WV-17J-C18D27?

I watched all this video. Pretty interesting considering all the angles companies are selling are data and trying to control our lives and even brainwash us etc. He seems to be a Amiga fan as well.

I can see where Louis is coming from with all this.

Where I used to work 20 years ago on arcade machines and such technologies. Manufacturers were not even repairing their own stuff any more. It was why our workshop existed to fix all sorts. Fast forward 20 years until modern times.. How much worse has this got since then. Everything is just in a throwaway society. Was the point of things becoming less repairable in the knowledge of fixing stuff in the general population is diminishing as time goes on.

For people these days having a subscription for everything is probably just normal. Nobody gives a crap if something breaks they just buy a new one even if it puts them in huge amounts of debt. Knowing this, is why Louis just gave up going on about such things. Was pretty funny though, let's talk about how less repairable the current iPhone is over the last gen one.. Rinse and repeat year after year.

In the future we will have to have a subscription to turn our household lights on and off and have a subscription for walking on the pavement outside. To our generation this is total madness. For current generations it will just become the norm and nobody will question it.
