My silly mistake was that I'd accidentally shorted two wires on the jumpers, thanks to a solder blob when doing the caps and resistors.

The current board is testing the design. There will be a production board but likely not anytime soon.

Finally took delivery of the caps and resistors for the select 1 and select 2 jumpers, so they will be getting done as soon as I can find time, which is likely to be Wednesday evening.
I have my TOS 1.04/2.06 ROM now too, and my programmer is now fixed so I can flash 27C4096 ROMS happily.
Last thing will be to sort out a test board that has removable TOS ROMS, as the one I'm using (C103253) doesn't. Looking like my spare CO70789 will be getting the job, which is also a help since it has 1MB installed.

Thanks for the schematic Exxos.... Yes after the picture of the damage done to RJ's digit I'm surprised RJ was able to get back up on that horse so soon. A lesser man would still be cowering in the closet.. :mrgreen: I ask the wife if the worst were to happen if I could use her cooking gloves and I was told in no uncertain terms I'd better be careful because she wasn't loaning them to a klutz that would pick up the business end of the iron..:) :) :) So in essence there is no room for error here. I should be using the scope here for awhile so in the immediate future I should be safe. :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

Ya, I went over the joints with the microscope and everything looks fine. I am wondering about the 84 pin PLCC socket. Some of the corner pins on the device had been bent a little.

Yes, that sounds promising Paul as mine detected the drive right after I fixed my bodge.
BTW, the 44 marking is pin 1 :lol:

Ok, I found an anomaly I believe. According to the schematic IORDY is connected from pin 27 on the IDE connector through a 100 ohm resister to pin 6 on the sip to pin 62 on the plcc. I'm missing the connection from pin 62 on the plcc to pin 6 on the sip. It appears to be mixed up with the Icky specified fixes. Is the schematic correct in this area? :?: :?: :?:

I'll check the schematic it might be the corrected one.
