Almost gave myself a heart attack just :lol: Put my ANC headphones on to drown out all the worldly noise.. Then loaded game on my tablet and music came blasting out of headphones. Feking Bluetooth :lol: why couldn't it have been that simple when trying to get it working on my PC :roll:

Thought I would have a change of scenery and start testing 030 CPU's on the STE instead 8-)

It also basically confirms that the original STFM and STE machines can work perfectly well with the ST536 and of course the H5 series of motherboards.


Scores are a little slower than expected on some tests because of the overhead of the MMU remapping ROM etc. Alt-ram speed would ordinarily be about 847% etc.

Looks like I might have to update GB6 to recognise the ST536 / TF536 :lol: :roll:

As digging through my old Atari archives I found a silica systems flyer from 1991. It would have been my "wish list" back then. I actually did by the citizen 224 printer with the colour kit. Cannot remember if it is still in the loft or not. I think there is a brand-new mono printer up there somewhere still.

If I ever get time, I will scan the flyer if anyone is interested.

As a surprising coincidence, at lunchtime today, I was sorting through some books that I was going to bring to the show and came across a Citizen (and Star) user manual amongst several others.

Here we go again. The STE boosters I'm getting pcbway to assemble this time.. They couldn't work out how to put the CPU socket in .. Even though there is a outline and arrows on the PCB which match the socket.

I said the socket is correct but the header pins are on the wrong side of the PCB. Sent them a image.. For the 5th bloody time.. They just sent a image.. They put the socket on the bottom of the PCB and left the header pins on top !! :pullhair: :pullhair: :headbang: :headbang:

All they had to do was look at the picture like 2 weeks ago when I first sent it. I don't know how anyone can screw up copying a picture.

It seems to me that as soon as assembly cannot be done with fully automated pick and place, one opens the gates of Hell...
