rubber_jonnie wrote: 22 Sep 2024 16:20 With regards to the screws some cases need machine screws and some need self tappers, just check the upper case for brass inserts, then screws can be had here: Electron Screws
This machine needs machine screws (inserts).
Out of 4 Electrons, I have one with the inserts. What was annoying is that the seller asked me if I wanted machine or self tappers for mine, and asked where it was made, Hong Kong according to the bottom of the case.

Turned out I ended up with the wrong screws because the lower case and upper case came from different machines...

That seller will do either.

Sorting through the horde, some interesting finds, other than the HTC Clio 110 Windows Mobile phone/Atom based Windows tablet with slide-out keyboard...

A set of Atari 800XL manuals but not Atari 800XL.

A complete set of Commodore 128 manuals, including the programmer's guide... but no C128.

RISCOS ANSI C compiler and documentation.

Two AMX mice, one set with User Port connector and ROMs, the other older version with documentation but no ROMs.

That's a great find you've got there, well done.

Are the C128 the original manuals?

Yes, and another recent (2019) book

Just modded the original Plus4 power supply so that it has a DIN connector rather than the original so that I can test the second Plus4. The first Plus4 has an adapter to allow the use of a DIN connector anyway so both machines can still be powered.

The second machine is in a nicer condition and looks pristine. The first one has slightly yellowed keys which need a bit of exercise to work.

Would you be willing to art with those Stephen? Obviously for whatever you think they are worth. I'll keep them with my C128 & 128D.

Btw, those plus 4 keys are made of very cheap weak plastic, if you do need to remove one be careful as the centre square pins snap off so very easily.

Yay! My dad's house sale has been pushed back yet again. :-/

Was supposed to exchange contracts last Thursday/Friday/Yesterday with completion on Thursday. Now that's been postponed to either the 2nd or 8th October.

It's not my direct buyers who are the problem, it the ones one link up the chain. My buyers are pulling their hair out.

Yeah, I'll have to see how to send them in the post, and find an envelope large enough.

Yeah, they're not much use to me and I don't have space to store all this stuff. My storage unit is full, as is the outbuilding (with stuff from my Dad's house) and now the living room is as well.
