Verified this morning that the Pi and VoIP systems all work independently, so that's ready for Cyber Legends.

Preparations for Cyber Legends continued this evening, testing and adjusting my Ferguson TX01 RGB telly.


Use the QL as it has square pixels and it's a doddle to write a program to produce a reasonable test card.


It's a good ting I checked as after previous work on the telly the height was out by quite a bit. I adjusted the base brightness too so that both the RGB and tuner looked OK.

Popped over to Leamington Spa to rescue "two Commodore Plus4 machines and some Acorn User magazines"... Returned with these plus...

Sorry, no cuddly toys, instamatic cameras or fondue sets.

I've now got to find places to put all this stuff!!!!

P.S. Oh, I forgot the HTC portable netbook/computer thingy which is sort of a tablet with a slide-out keyboard.

Well, one of the Plus4s works. I can't test the other as the power supply in the box is original and the machine which was in the box with it had a DIN power connector mod. Tested the original PSU and the voltages were fine.

Oh, and the RF signal is very good on the machine.

One bonus is that it allowed be to test my Ferguson TX TV with sound after I replaced a cap on Friday. The original on the 12V rail was a 100uF 16V one and I replaced it with the value that the schematic for the set has, 470uF. This has removed all the mains hum from the sound on the set, which it has had since new, so I thought I'd broken the audio! Not sure why Ferguson used lower capacity Nichicon caps, it probably wouldn't have cost less.

Oh, and the Plus4 in the box came with a TFW8b diag cart.

If anyone needs a NOS Acorn Plus One case or a later, non breadbin, C64 case then i have spares.

Oh, and the Electron "with a bad ULA"... just needed some contact cleaner on the ULA and the power socket. It could do with new screws, as they're missing, and someone's "borrowed" the speaker.

With regards to the screws some cases need machine screws and some need self tappers, just check the upper case for brass inserts, then screws can be had here: Electron Screws

I got one of these speakers form one of my Electrons: Electron Speaker and whilst it isn't an Electron speaker specifically, it is pretty much on spec and works a treat.

The older ULA's where you can remove them and clean the contacts are so much easier to work with.

This machine needs machine screws (inserts).
