Provided I have a kb+mouse combo attached via USB, will a cd32 controller still work in port 1 (where usually you have a mouse e.g. on an A1200)?
I also have a cd32 pad in port 2, but I guess that doesn't interfere with the kb+mouse combo, does it?
Also, do you think a (late) fall release of the riser would be possible?
Thanks

No using one will disable the other. I.e. fire0 will disable USB and using USB will disable the mouse port. The board works by pretending to be the mouse port.
EDIT: I think its unlikely im going to get time to look at this soon between the TF1260/TF536 and TF360.

One thing that could be helpful is suggestions for an active video buffer chip. Really needs to be small footprint for the riser but I really want to buffer those 3 RGB outputs.

How do you mean by buffer?
I have diode clamping (using a single IC) of the RGB signals on the FB-32G which protects the DAC from Latch-up if thats what you're getting at?

I want to completely protect the DAC and Encoder from anything added to the DB23 and ensure the voltage levels are ok. Remember we tapping off AX_EXT now.

Right, in which case the diode clamping should do this since it ensures that voltage levels never exceed 5V. When I get back home tonight I'll dig out the chip spec sheet and pdf a copy of my schematic showing their hookup in this scenario. Will probably need to though so as to protect the the EXT though

Its not enough. I need a FET input op amp of some kind so that the current drawn by the DB23 is low as possible. I'm not just looking to protect the chips i want perfect output on the DB23 and composite simultaneously.

this is all on my github still. just on a branch.
