I would go with what is the most simplest and what you know, so I guess the CPLD route. It will probably get you most of what the ICE was going to give but less effort on your side.

Although there seems to be more hours in a day across the border (I don't know how you fit in so much!) :lol: You have lots of other things on the go, and it would be good to get the 4060 out the door even if it has not got a feature/tech you originally wanted to include (a slightly selfish answer as I want to get hold of a 4060 ;) ) Then more time to concentrate on arcades etc !

Yes BFG has probably hoovered more of the 4000 market, but the 4060 is still relevant. As I have said before, I like the on-fly speed switching and the end completion of a Terriblefire build journey :geek:

The problem with the BFG is it only operates at 50 and 100mhz. That's not ideal.

I have made some progress this week.

I got the thing completely stable at 50Mhz with 256Mb of ram. 7Mb/s chipram write speed now.

Remaining todo:

1. Clock switching is sulky still.
2. Retest SCSI DMA (presume it works but will no doubt have some things needing smoothed out).
3. IDE Driver move to Fastmem at boot time.
4. IDE DMA*

* IDE DMA is a stretch goal but will ship before it is done.

That's still with the ICE chip? That's great news!

I think in a video you said previous issues were down to your card and you have fixed that, but you might be spinning another board Rev?

I too am keen for an update if possible. I have am '060 just waiting, and I don't want to "waste" my money on the BFG if the TF4060 is liekly to be available any time soon.

Ive not had a chance to look into this for about a month. 2 weeks of which i was on holiday, 2 weeks before was a very busy period at work and this last week was reentry after holiday.

The only thing i've found out that i've not shared is that my fears of having bad reflections on the SDRAM lines was unfounded. The signals are as clean as a whistle at 100Mhz (using a 1Ghz scope).
