Noticed that most of these seem to have sold pretty quickly - the last couple went for over £40.... :(

Hmm...how did that happen...? :oops: :o :roll: I seem to have bought an NC100 from the Bay of fleas somehow...

Some photos show the screen working at least, so hopefully it can be coaxed back to full health!

That will be the first Amstrad I've ever owned...hope @rubber_jonnie manages to get the serial port working with his ST... otherwise it will probably be refurbished & sold on....

You probably only need to replace the CR2032 backup battery, if that!! Keyboards can be sticky though.

Mine was dead and cost about £33 delivered, I think there are some quite overpriced ones on there.

If you do as I did and disassemble the keyboard completely, you will find that like the ST it has rubber domes, however all of the spots should be filled, and they don't have an electrical contact because they just press two mylar sheets together. Beware there are a lot of plastic clips and they are quite fragile.

I just washed the black plastic carrier and the keys.

The thing is, don't do what I did and put all the keys back in before trying to reassemble because it just doesn't play nice and you can't get the metal back plate on.

Take the black plastic carrier and flip it. Put all the domes back in, then put in the mylar membrane. Then clip on the metal back plate, making sure all the clips click, and put the 2 screws back in.

Then, and only then, can you flip it and pop the keys back in. For the sticky keys, I gave the stems and receptacles a further clean with IPA, and then put a drop of light oil onto the stem.

All things considered, the KBD is ok.

There is another up on eBay for 99p at the moment, but it has 6 days to run, and it already works so not really a challenge :)
