All I need to do now is pack up the most chaotic room in the house, my retro workshop!!
Make sure that you keep some stuff available to work on over the next few weeks!
In all honesty, I don't think I'll have the time to work on much. I may just keep my broken Spectrum handy as that is small enough to not cause much bother when coming to packing.

Well, we exchanged contracts yesterday, so things are progressing nicely!! And if the stamp duty holiday is extended as is being reported, even better!!!

Started on the pack up of the workshop last weekend, and 8 boxes in, I think I'm going to easily use up the 30 provided by the movers. That's just my workshop though, the rest of the house should be easy as they are coming to pack for us.

Mind you, a lot of the stuff I packed was small, so hopefully once I get to the bigger stuff it will seem like I've made more progress than I seem to have so far!

So moving to a rental in mid-March for 3 months whilst our new build is finished.

It's going to be hard not having access to my retro collection (Some small items will come though) but the bonus will be a much improved office/workshop once we get in, and I'm sure the time will fly by.

Arrrrrghhh, packers are here and there's more chaos. Don't like it, and like even less that I won't have a workshop for 3 months.

Good luck. Hopefully they won't break anything.

After all I'm guessing that "insurance value" << "eBay replacement cost" for retro stuff at the moment.

Cheers!! All gone now, fingers crossed when we actually move in in 3 months it'll all still be there in one piece!!

As for insurance, god knows!!

Well, in our rental now, I have (sucky) broadband but can work, so I should hopefully be able to get back to my moderator duties.

My retro capabilities are sadly lacking, but I do have my MSTE and Lynx II with me, which will hopefully get me through the next 3 months!!

Jon, I hope the vicious soldering iron that attacked previously is safely stored away in storage. At least there's no need to be looking over your shoulder for that pesky iron. :dizzy:

@JezC , Na, I'd never pick on @rubber_jonnie ... I'm just happy that he's going to get a reprieve from that dastardly iron. Not sure but he may have found it a new home.

I'm not sure you were around when we were building the remake. Rj was lagging behind and experienced a vicious iron attack which set his efforts behind even more. There was a user "Russ" who was a marketing consultant advising @exxos on matters concerning Harry's marketing... got so pissed when the iron attacked Rj he took his iron and burned all the traces off his STE around the proms. Those were the days.

@PaulJ Yes, I followed the alpha builds with interest (and the various mishaps along the way) - though I missed the chance to get one of them but have the H4s & a H5 as well as the Falcon, 2x Mega STs, 3xSTE & over 20 STF/M. If only I had the free time to finish the second H4 & H5...let alone repairing/upgrading the few broken STF/M systems

So far, no serious injury to myself from the retro hobbying (and thus far, no Russ-style flamethrower attacks on the PCBs either :fire: :fire: :fire: ).

As for his old iron, I think that had a mishap itself (or was it really RJ getting his revenge?) and was replaced...
