I guess it has occurred to you already - try to let it boot into TOS and then push reset again.

Have you tried running the HDDRIVER configuration utility from your floppy disk, or just tried to boot from it? It's called HDDRUTIL.APP.

Also, have you tried with a different card that is not formatted, and tried to prep it using the HDDRIVER tools?

Just let the machine boot to TOS then run from floppy.

I've seen a few reports lately on the likes of FB and other places saying their pre-prepared card doesn't work, so it's worth a try.

Hi ive booted into tos and then ran HDDRUTIL,APP as instructed with a different memory card in this being a sandisk 16gb that is blank.
I get the following message There is no SCSI Driver and/or XHDI 1.10 support installed. This means that may features are not accesible.
In case you need the missing functions before HDDRUTIL launch HDDRIVER.
When i run HDDriver.prg i get Aatari ACSI 0.0: No Device
No Partitions
Used Memory: 38Kib
Also tried as suggested letting it boot into TOS and hitting reset still does the same thing. Its like the ST cannot see the UltraSatan is there

Ok, so the driver loads from floppy, but does not see the US then, even with a different card.

Is this a device that has a cable or plugs directly into the ACSI socket? Have you checked that the PSU matches up with the power requirements for the US? I'm sure it does, but worth a check.

If it does plug directly into the socket, check to make sure it isn't pushed too far in and shorting on other metal parts.

Otherwise, I think you will need to check it out on another machine, so Steve will be your best bet.

Very likely a factory bodge, nothing to worry about. The glob of white hot glue often accompanies factory bodges :)

FYI when adding images, can you please add them in-line. I've fixed it for you this time, it just makes it tidier when you have a lot of images, otherwise they end up in a clump at the end :)

Ah ok fair enough , in reference to the earlier question is a US that plugs straight into the port doesn't use a cable its definitely not shorting as ive made sure its not touching anything and not to far into the port to do so. Ive been powering it from a Sony phone charger and ive tried various others doesnt seem to make any difference the US still flashes like it does and te ST doesnt see it, sadly sounds like the ST is gonna have to go back in the cupboard :(

Might be worth checking the ACSI port to make sure that there are no dry joints on the mainboard too. You could try Deoxit or Electrolube on the socket, could be a bad connection. Also check for dry joints on the US PCB on the pins that plug into ACSI.
