BTW, since this time it's SMT, is the pre assembly board of caps/res going to take that long? Is pre-ass/bare coming in the same package? I mean, I can go either way. I can solder in all those my self, but rather not. I get that is was more of a special order last time considering all was hand soldered and this time it's a pick-n-place job. I am sure some want all the sockets and as much pre soldered they can get. Enough rant...

I take one PCB with pre assembly of caps/res, if it arrives about the same time. Otherwise a bare PCB, thanks.

@DoG The SMT generic parts will be assembled at the factory along with the PCBs. The delay last time was because of the PCBs was sent to a UK company to assemble the SMT and through hole. All other parts will remain soldered by the buyer.

I'd recommend most to get the boards with the pressssembled smt components. It'll save so much time in self assembly and shopping for parts.

Even though I've now built 2 Alpha boards and 3 H4 boards I'd get mine preassembled with the smt stuff leaving the easier stuff for after. And let's face it, a machine can solder surface mount stuff far better and faster than I can.

I agree @PhilC. I build boards all the time (have a few SMT ones this weekend to do). I would much rather have the board supplied with all the SMT work done as it will save time and effort which I can use elsewhere :)
