I think I forgot to mention...

I will be selling SMT & GLUE in my store soon.. BUT note that you won't be able to try the FPGA board when it appears.. As you will need to remove the GLUE & MMU as they get replaced with the FPGA. But the FPGA is a long way off yet anyway..

Yep, I thought this would most likely help a lot when it comes to the debugging phase :)

And man, I am really looking forward to this, hopefully I will have enough spare time to keep up :)

Good idea...I was planning to burn my own set of diagnostic ROMs to put in the STs but the cart might be more widely useful/easier (and available sooner given my lack of free time ATM :lol: ).
How much "life" do you need from an ST for the Diag cart to start to be useful?

I have 2 or 3 STFMs which show a white/black screen (rectangle one colour, border the other) but one or two others which show keyboard LED lit (and Gotek has power) but no video output at all & no access to the floppy interface either.

From what I've read the cart should be fine with the ones with video output but would it help with the one with no video output?
I think the processor needs to be running a small amount of code before it can access the cartridge port?

Hoping to order the H4 board plus other goodies next week (payday...so hopefully I've done enough overtime to buy at least some of the bits I want/need) so would be good to know.

You serial link to a PC for those problems.

If the machine is really trashed, then diagrom will have to be used.

Ok, thanks for the info. Will have a quick search on this site for info on this.

I do recall TF doing a version of something similar for the ST...should have a few 27C256 & a couple of 27C512 EPROMs lurking somewhere...if they are big enough?

The DiagROM was very useful to me during the initial phases of the alpha build.
