Sounds like maybe the IDEWAIT or IDEINT resistors arent soldered correctly or have incorrect values. 2k is about right.

Before you do anything boot with a simple WB installation. If you're seeing 800Kb/s thats about right with an EC. It could be a screwy software setup.

I think it might be the resistors, the WB install is fine and minimal and boots quickly on my 530.
Thanks for the quick reply.

Resistors check out ok. If it's nothing else obvious it might be the CF reader, I know Kludge had a problem with his.

Yes it was indeed the adapter. I used the one from me A600 and it booted in no time.

I plan to check what the difference is between the CF adapter that does work and the one that doesn't. I think there are more resistors on one of them, but we'll see. It probably won't be soon, however.

Yeah it's quite odd, as the one that didn't work on the 534 works fine in the 600.
I've never had one play up before, as they are really quite simple devices.

This might shed some light on what's occurring with these adaptors.

That’s very interesting. Just came here to post images of my adapters (before seeing the video), and mine are exactly the same. The one with the transistors does work in my A600, but not connected to the 534.
The working one only has a resistor for the activity led on it.

That's exactly the same as what's happened to me.
I've put the one with transistors on in my 600 and it's perfectly fine, so I wont be removing them and testing it on the 534, but I'm pretty sure it would solve the problem.
At least now if anyone has the same issue it's an easy fix for them.
